Outreach at Home and Overseas
First Presbyterian Church, Ahoghill, is a living, vibrant fellowship with a vision to share the Good News about Jesus Christ at home and overseas.
There is a meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm to pray for the missionary and outreach work of our church. This is followed by a meeting of the Missionary and Outreach Committee if required.
Missionary Day
In March each year we normally have a missionary day when both morning and evening services focus on the missionary activities of our church. The speakers usually give a report to update the congregation for prayer and practical support.
The Missionary prayer letters are available from the various missionaries and societies for collection at the missionary table in the foyer.
Daily devotionals
The Word for Today and Our Daily Bread are also made available.
Updates
Occasionally during the year we have missionary speakers at our church services or the mid-week meeting speaking of their work. We also have from time to time a missionary update before our prayer of intercession in the church service by a member of the Missionary Committee or a member of the church who has been on outreach work.
Soup Lunch
We normally have a soup lunch once a year after the morning service to help raise financial support for some project that the Committee has decided on.
Summer Outreach
The Committee also informs the congregation of members who go out on any type of outreach work at home or overseas during the summer or during the year and to give prayerful and financial support.
The following missionaries and societies receive our support.
Local and Ireland Missions
- Belfast City Mission
- Calvary Mission
- Child Evangelism Fellowship Ireland
- PCI Mission in Ireland
- Scripture Union in schools
